There’s a lot of confusion as to what THCa flower is. Is it a different plant, a weird GMO plant, or “wannabe” version of cannabis? The answer to all of those questions is “no.”
To put it simply, all the cannabis you’ve ever consumed is THCa flower. THCa is not psychoactive in its raw form. When exposed to heat, however, THCa turns into THC.
Since cannabis is grown in warm places, some of the plant’s THCa content converts to psychoactive THC prior to being “enjoyed.” If special precautions are taken during the growing process, the amount of THCa that gets converted is minimal (under .3%) allowing THCa flower to be categorized as hemp.

The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (“2018 Farm Bill”) was signed into law on December 20, 2018. The 2018 Farm Bill defined hemp as the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of that plant, including the seeds thereof, and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers thereof, whether growing or not, that has a total delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration that does not exceed 0.3 percent on a dry-weight basis. The 2018 Farm Bill created a process for states and tribal governments to establish state hemp programs in which individuals could legally cultivate hemp. The 2018 Farm Bill also removed hemp, as defined above, from the federal Controlled Substances Act.
That all depends how you use them. When heated, ignited, or left in sunlight for too long, THCa converts to psychoactive THC. Some of our customers enjoy adding our flower to their smoothies to enjoy the benefits of cannabis without the buzz. Others choose to light it on fire. What you do with it is up to you.
